The issue of home safety is regarded as very important to ensure that a person can remain living in their own home.

The types of issues that are dealt with under home safety include the installation of smoke detectors, preventing trips and falls within the home, electrical safety and many others.

Care & Repair work in conjunction with Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Services to allow the installation of ten year lithium battery smoke detectors within a clients home. Following a visit from Care & Repair a referral can be made to Strathclyde Fire & Rescue who will visit and carry out a home safety assessment and install smoke detectors as required. Strathclyde Fire & Rescue will also notify Care & Repair of any other issues that are noted within the home safety assessment.

Electrical safety within the home is very important and where sockets are overloaded a risk of fire may exist. Care & Repair can assist with electrical upgrades and can provide both practical and financial assistance in many instances.
