Tenants Associations

Registered Tenants' & Residents Associations

The Association actively promotes and supports Registered Tenants’ Associations (RTAs) and Registered Tenants’ and Residents’ Associations (RTRAs) within its properties/communities in both North and East Ayrshire.

At present we provide support to three such organisations:

  • Mount Pleasant & Putyan (CHA Ltd) Tenants’ Association
  • Longpark & Gladstone Tenants’ & Residents’ Association
  • Ardrossan (CHA Ltd) Tenants’ & Residents’ Association

Having a strong and active Registered Tenants/Residents Associations to represent the views of tenants/residents in their areas and provide feedback to promote continuous improvement in all our services to customers is pivotal to the Association’s ongoing sustainability and success.

We will help groups to get started and offer them practical and financial support as they work towards registration with the Association.

We accept that in putting tenants and residents first, that this will mean additional costs.  The Association firmly believes that this area of its operations needs to be strengthened.  Accordingly, we will recruit for the post of Tenant and  Community Engagement Officer during this year to aid this process.

Funding for RTAs/RTARAs

The Association has agreed criteria for accessing funding by such groups.  Funding will be made as a Start-Up Grant, which can be paid to groups to tenants’/residents’ who are working towards establishing a properly constituted and organised group.  In addition, properly organised and constituted groups can apply for an Annual Grant to help with their running costs and cost of other activities.  In addition to Start-Up and Annual Grants, groups may apply for one-off or special payments to cover specific items of expenditure, which cannot be met from their own resources.

Further details on the criteria for payment of tenant group grants and how to apply, together with details of our standard Constitution for groups are available by clicking below:
