Business Support
HR is at the centre of a variety of partnership arrangements such as Business Excellence Ayrshire and inter-company learning events, and takes a lead role in forging links with other organisations such as Scottish Business in the Community (SBC).
At the operational level, the HR function provides support to the staff teams and those on the front-line, this can take the form of training and development, coaching, the co-ordination of communications, performance management and teambuilding activities. Over the longer term the Human Resources Strategy is to develop support mechanisms to enable the bulk of this activity to be devolved to the line managers and teams.
At the strategic level the Human Resources function ensures that people management issues are high on the agenda for the organisation with employee relations, performance management, and equal opportunities to the forefront.
Employee Relations is the way in which the Association deals with individual employee rights. These are outlined in the EVH/CHA written Statement of Terms and Conditions of Employment – CHA Statement of Terms and Conditions of Service. However, it is also about how the Association conducts its affairs, be it selection of new staff or management style, which will to a great extent, determine whether a positive people-centred culture exists at the Association. Within the Association we recognise that consultation and communication with, and between, staff and Committee, is vital for positive outcomes.
Performance Management is apparent in the use of Section Road Maps, One Page Business Plans, Key Performance Targets, training plan’s, CHA Learning Programme and the continued development of the Personal Focus Plans will be key to effective performance management.
