Clark Gardens, Largs

This former children’s home was acquired from North Ayrshire Council in March 2006 and will provide the first social rented accommodation in Largs over the last 10 year period.  The proposals will provide a total of 15 houses and flats for rent for a mixture of general needs and amenity clients.

Residents have been consulted on the plans over a series of design workshops and open days.  These events proved beneficial by seeking residents views in advance of the planning application being made.  Work commenced on site with Ashleigh (Scotland) Ltd on 3 September 2007 and it is scheduled for completion by August 2008.  The Association held a successful ground breaking ceremony on 12 October 2007 to mark the commencement of the works and the Provost Robert Rae carried out the official duties on the day.
