Longpark, Kilmarnock

This project represents an example of significant investment within North West Kilmarnock.  The Association appointed CCG in 2006 as the developer for the next stage of the proposals within Longpark known as Phase 6.  As well as providing the Association with 54 houses for rent the developer will also be building 84 homes for sale on the site.  Our housing for rent will comprise a mixture of semi-detached and terraced housing together with 4 wheelchair bungalows and 8 single storey amenity terraced houses. 

These house types are new to the Association’s portfolio and will be incorporated again within future projects. Identification of clients for the specialist accommodation has been achieved in partnership with East Ayrshire Council Social Services and the Occupational Therapists.  Works commenced on site on 19 February 2007 with the first 7 properties handed back on 19 February 2008 and is on course for achieving overall completion by June 2008.  The Association undertook detailed consultation during a series of design workshops where tenants and residents views were sought on the Association’s new build proposals.

The Association appointed Armour Construction Consultants as our Employer’s Agents and our pre-contract CDM Co-ordinator for this project.
