Cunninghame Housing Association has over 2,000 properties in management and is the leading provider of social rented housing in North and East Ayrshire. There are 1739 properties for rent 33 in shared ownership and 378 factored owners in these areas spread across 12 towns.  We are the only Social Landlord on the Island of Cumbrae following a successful transfer of stock from North Ayrshire Council.

How to Apply for Housing

Housing Application Forms can be picked up from either the Ardrossan or the Kilmarnock Offices or alternatively you can download an application form from this website. Within the application form there is a list of property type and size which can help you decide the areas you wish to be housed in.

The Association also has a 50% nomination agreement with the Local Authorities this means that half of our vacant properties in a financial year we request the Local Authority to nominate an applicant from their waiting list.  Therefore you should ensure that you have completed an Application for Housing with your Local Authority

Cunninghame Housing Association is working with North and East Ayrshire Councils to develop Common Housing Registers. These will allow a single application form for each local authority area and allow you to apply for all social landlords on this form.

Allocation & Eligibility for Housing

The only criteria for eligibility is that you must be at least 16 years of age.  Should you require assistance in completing the Housing Application Form you should contact the Area Team for your local area see Contact Us. On receipt of your application you will be sent an acknowledgement letter within 3 working days and once your application has been processed a points notification letter will be issued advising of the points you have been awarded and the current points required for housing in the areas you have chosen. Our target for completing this process is 21 working days.
