On Tuesday 9/11/2021 Brenda Johnstone, Board Member of Cunninghame Housing Association presented a cheque for £1,000 to Ardrossan Winton Rovers 2009’s.

The Ardrossan Winton Rovers 2009’s is a development football club for local children born in 2009. The aim of the club is to encourage good fitness habits, healthy eating, and to boost their confidence. A teamworking attitude will be useful later in life. Formed in 2018, the team has grown to 17 players, 3 volunteer coaches and a volunteer qualified first aider. The young players enjoy two weekly training sessions. The kids compete in the North Ayrshire Soccer Association League with weekly games against other clubs.

Brenda Johnstone commented, “I was delighted to present the cheque to Ardrossan Winton Rovers 2009’s. A very worthwhile local cause with their commitment while encouraging and developing many life skills in the young players. Wishing them all the best for future games in the North Ayrshire Soccer Association League”.

The funds doanted by the Association will let the team buy new away-game match strips and light rain jackets. This allows all of the young people to be part of the team. It takes away any burdens on families who may not be able to pay for brand new strips.

The money for Ardrossan Winton Rovers 2009’s came from the “Making Our Communities a Better Place Fund”. This runs throughout the year (1st April 2021 to 31st March 2022) until the money is done.

we greatly appreciate all the help we have received over the years from Cunninghame Housing Association and without this support we wouldn’t be developing as well as a local youth football team.

STUART GRIFFITHS, Football Coach, Ardrossan Winton Rovers
