Elected a Councillor in May 2017, and a long term trade unionist, Jimmy joined the Board as North Ayrshire Council’s representative in August 2017.

He is a well known Pensioners Rights campaigner, and a community stalwart who was instrumental in setting up Neighbourhood Watch schemes across North Ayrshire.
A serving soldier from 1958 to 1974 he has been a member of the GMB trade union since 1975 and has served in various roles including serving on the London and Scottish regional councils.
