Making Our Communities Better Places Fund Awards 2026

We are celebrating this years grant awards for our Making Our Communities Better Places Fund, with over £12,000 of funding given to 18 local groups and projects that are doing fantastic work in their communities.

This year’s groups support everything from sport and youth activities to wellbeing, music, safety and volunteering.

Our Executive Director of Housing and Communites, Jennifer McCann, opened the event, where cheques were presented by Jennifer and our Chairperson, Janet Strang before everyone enjoyed lunch and had some time to network with other volunteers.

I want to congratulate all of this year’s successful applicants. Their dedication strengthens our communities and reflects exactly what this fund was created to achieve.

Since the fund first launched in North and East Ayrshire in 1999 – and later expanded to Dumfries and Galloway and all CHA communities – it has continued to evolve to meet local needs.  

I’d like to extend my congratulations to this year’s successful applicants. Their hard work and commitment not only drive meaningful impact but also embody the true purpose of the Making Our Communities Better Places Fund.
