OUR REGENERATION WORK IN DUMFRIES & GALLOWAY
CHA
The Dumfries & Galloway Regeneration projects we work on complement our core housing services. They range from giving charitable donations to local organisations and support services to those in fuel poverty. Working with community based organisations to develop community assets and important new facilities within local communities.
Raydale Park Community Regeneration Project
Over the last 24 months we’ve helped Raydale Community Partnership (RCP) in Gretna with business planning and several major funding bids to secure in excess of £500,000 to help secure a new 11-a-side astroturf pitch, community gym, fitness room and changing facilities at Raydale Park in Gretna. Working together our aim is to create the Raydale Community Sports Hub and improve access to sport and leisure facilities for local children and adults who currently travel significant distances, including into England, to access sporting facilities.
Dumfries & Galloway Fuel Poverty Services
Over the last 2 year our Lemon Aid fuel poverty service gave advocacy support and advice to more than 2200 clients in Dumfries and Galloway, helping 206 clients who had self-disconnected to reconnect to power supplies and enabling 400 people to gain credit for repayment meters. During the pandemic we distributed more than £21,000 of Energy Vouchers to families in crisis to top up their prepayment meters and, overall, in the last 2 years the Team have generated over £450,000 of financial gains for local people including grants, debt write offs and tariff savings.
