On Wednesday 22nd September 2021 John Kelly, Chairperson of Cunninghame Housing Association presented a cheque for £1,000 to David Thompson, Ardrossan Community Sports Hub Manager and staff.

Ardrossan Community Sports Hub is a registered charity which has recently been set up by a group of local people who are trustees and lead the organisation and is run by a voluntary committee. The group has recently opened a community gym in Eglinton Street, Ardrossan with the aim of using physical activity and sport as a means of improving individuals health, both physical and mental, which in turn creates a sense of well being and resilience in the community.

The funding received from Cunninghame Housing Association will help to assist with costs of upgrading the heating system within the gym, which is essential to the running of the facility, providing hot water and an adequate heating system.

Our sincere thanks to Cunninghame Housing Association, the help provided from the Making Our Communities a Better Place fund is doing exactly that, without this type of financial assistance we would not be able to maintain our community gym.
