Our Dalry Tenants and Residents group hosted a Cunninghame Forum Meeting in April 2023 in the Rosearden Hall in Dalry.
Forum meetings are held quarterly with each of our tenant groups hosting and chairing the meetings on a rolling basis. The Forum meetings help to share best practice, give updates on each group’s activity and tenant participation, discuss, and learn about topical housing policy/issues. It also gives tenant members an opportunity to meet senior CHA staff. The host group also showcases their local area with a visit to a place of interest with informative presenters.
21 tenant group members attended the meeting with the Dalry Group arranging an interesting agenda. This included a visit to St Margarets Parish church which celebrates its 150 birthday this year. The informative tour of this beautiful church was led by a very knowledgeable session clerk.
The first guest speaker was Liam Watters, Cunninghame’s Head of Asset Management and Repairs. Liam delivered a detailed presentation on the causes and prevention of dampness, condensation, and mould within people’s homes.
Mark Dunn, Plant Manager at DSM in Dalry gave the Forum an insight into their world leading project, Bovaer, a cattle feed which will be a significant solution to combat climate change. The new production facility will be ready in two years and provide local employment and apprenticeships.
Both speakers were happy to take questions which lead to interesting discussions.
