Cunninghame Housing Association is the first Housing Association in Scotland (with more than 50 employees) to be awarded Investors in People Platinum, Investors in Young People Gold Accreditation, and Investors in People Health & Wellbeing Good Practice Award. With over 3000 properties in North and East Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway, the Association plans to build a further 1000 plus houses over the next 5 years. Cunninghame Housing Association are now looking to recruit qualified Tradespersons to assist in the delivery of our Direct Works service to our tenants. Cunninghame Housing Association Direct Works undertakes day to day repairs and both planned and cyclical work in Association owned housing and commercial properties. We are looking to recruit the following post:

POST: Electrician

SALARY: £34,654 PER ANNUM (£17.54/HOUR)

Hours Per Week: Monday – Thursday 8.00 a.m. – 4.30 p.m. (2:00 p.m. Friday)

Reporting to the Direct Works Manager you will provide an efficient customer focused service, undertaking a range of electrical repairs and improvement works for Direct Works Services clients. You will also carry out a programme of electrical inspections and testing within the Association’s own stock. You will be working on the Associations Kitchen replacement programme, rewiring kitchens as necessary.

The post holder must be self-motivated and confident with an approved qualification, using trade skills in a trade discipline with an awareness of current legislative and health and safety working practices. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a small repairs team to ensure successful delivery of a quality small repair, maintenance, and improvement service. For the testing and inspection programmes, you should be able to demonstrate technical competencies to ensure compliance with current regulations with suitable qualifications to be able to sign off and certify this work. (A full driving licence is essential for this post).
