£5 million of emergency financial support is being put in place to help students facing hardship due to Covid-19.
Extra cash will be available to any university and college students now struggling as a result of Covid-19. The £5 million includes an extra £2.2 million for Scotland’s Higher Education (HE) Discretionary Fund to address Covid-19 related hardships. This will be available to colleges and universities at once.
University and college students will be able to apply for emergency discretionary payments directly to their own institutions.
