Janet Strang, Chairperson of Cunninghame Housing Association recently presented a cheque for £1,000 to David Howie, Ardrossan Group Scout Leader.

Ardrossan Scout Group is a registered charity based in Ardrossan. It has been in existence for over 100 years. The Scout group have four age group sections as follows: Beavers; 6-8yrs; Cubs: 8-10yrs; Scouts: 10-14yrs and Three Towns Explorer Scouts: 14-18yrs who all meet on a weekly basis.  The aim of Scouting is to actively engage young people and prepare them with skills for life. To enable all scout sections to flourish, adult volunteers are needed. By volunteering as an assistant, leader or a trustee, they equip you with personal development opportunities and skills for the future to help make a positive impact on the lives of young people. If you would like to volunteer, you can get in touch by visiting https://www.scouts.org.uk/volunteer/volunteering-with-scouts/ or visit the Ardrossan Scout Group Facebook page. The contribution volunteers make are invaluable and very rewarding.

The funding provided by Cunninghame Housing Association was to support the financial cost of purchasing new tables and chairs for the group as a whole to utilise as their current equipment was very worn and needed replaced.

The funding for the Ardrossan Scout Group came from the Associations “Making Our Communities a Better Place Fund” which operates throughout the year (1st April to 31st March) until the allocated funding is exhausted.

We are pleased to support the local scouting group of Ardrossan, providing all users, young and old with much needed new equipment. This group has provided many in the three towns and beyond a welcome, safe and warm environment with the opportunity to learn
