The new Adult Disability Payment is now available in 10 council areas which includes North, East and South Ayrshire. The other areas will open on 29th August 2022 for those who wish to apply.
This benefit is replacing Personal Independence Payment and Disability Living Allowance. If you already receive either of these benefits, you do not need to apply for the Adult Disability Payment. Awards will automatically move from DWP to Social Security Scotland in stages. This starts from this summer and the process is expected to be finished by the end of 2025. There will be no break in rights or payment during this time.
