Social Security Scotland Update

There’s changes coming to benefits delivered by Social Security Scotland. From end August 2022 the Adult Disability Payment will go live. This is replacing Personal Independence Payment and Disability Living Allowance. That means that those already receiving Personal Independence Payment or Disability Living Allowance do not need to apply.

Awards will be moved automatically to the new Scottish system from August 2022, with no break in rights or payment.

Social Security Scotland have delayed the introduction of Pension Age Disability Payment (PADP).This is in light of the continuing impact of COVID-19. Pension Age Disability payment is replacing Attendance Allowance.

When PADP becomes available, the process should be similar to Adult Disability Payment. There is no need for a new claim if already receiving (AA), no break in your right or payment.
