Presenting the winners’ Cups and certificates were CHA Board Members, June Fenelon and Elizabeth Shedden.
Cunninghame Housing Association’s annual garden competition has been held for many years as a way of thanking tenants for taking pride in their gardens and their local area. This was the 1st year since 2019 that judges were able to get out and enjoy this year’s entries. The judges were impressed by the high standard of entries despite being so late in the growing season and the unusual weather patterns.
Coming out on top in North Ayrshire were Mr. and Mrs. Ritchie of Old Caley Road in Irvine and in East Ayrshire Miss. Blades from Northcraig Road in Kilmarnock. The winner of the best kept communal garden area was Mr. Smith from Glen Crescent in Stevenston.
The garden competition is an opportunity to reward the skill and hard work of tenants and to reinforce the need for garden areas to be kept in good condition. Well tended gardens improve residents’ environment and ensure that their communities continue to be popular and attractive places to live.
“The quality of this year’s entries was excellent, and it was a difficult choice for the selection panel to decide one winner. It’s great to see the competition back and be a popular fixture in the Associations calendar again. Well done to the winners and thanks to all who entered for making our local areas so attractive”
