There was something for everyone, with a range of activities that kept kids entertained. The craft station was a big hit, with budding artists showcasing their skills by decorating Easter eggs and bunnies, proudly showing off their colourful creations.

TENANT SPOTLIGHT

Steve is Chairperson of 3 Towns Tenants & Residents Association and member of the Tenant Scrutiny Group.

How long have you been a CHA tenant? I’ve been a CHA tenant for around a year now.

How long have you been part of the groups, and what has been your favourite scrutiny task?

I joined the 3 Towns Group last year and now serve as Chairperson, which I really enjoy and take pride in. I also joined the Scrutiny Group in January. We’re currently focusing on CHA’s value for money, which has been really interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing what this project develops into, as I’m confident it will lead to positive improvements.

What would you like to see more of? I’d love to see more tenants getting involved with CHA-whether that’s through residents’ groups or other engagement opportunities. It would be great to see more people attending both local and CHA events, as it really helps build a stronger community voice.

Do you feel CHA are an effective landlord? Yes, I do. The repairs service is exceptionally good, and the customer service provided by CHA is second to none. Staff are always helpful and supportive when you get in touch with an issue.

What has been your favourite event so far? I really enjoyed the recent Cunninghame Forum event in April. The visit to the Maritime Museum was fascinating, and it’s always great to meet and spend time with other group members.

CUNNINGHAME FORUM

Our first Cunninghame Forum event of the year took place in April, bringing tenants together from North and East Ayrshire & Dumfries & Galloway for a day out, organised with support from our very own Three Towns Group.

The day began with a visit to the Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine, where tenants explored exhibits and learned more about Scotland’s maritime heritage. This was followed by lunch, giving everyone a chance to chat and connect with one another.

The event finished with a fun and friendly Chess tournament, hosted by Three Towns member Ruslan Dudkin, which was enjoyed by players of all abilities.

A big thank you to the Three Towns Group and everyone who attended—we look forward to seeing you at the next event!

SCHOOL CLOTHING GRANT

Clothing grant applications are now open. If you receive certain welfare benefits you may be entitled to this grant, £126 per child for primary school children and £157.50 per child for secondary. You can apply for this grant through your local councils website.

Could you be entitled to Scottish Child Payment?

Scottish Child Payment helps with the cost of raising a family. If you’re eligible, you can receive £28.20 per week for each child you care for who is under 16 years old. Payments are made every four weeks.

FUEL PRICE GAP CHANGE

Scottish household energy bills are set to rise this summer after Ofgem confirmed a 13% increase in the energy price cap from 1 July 2026.

For a typical dual-fuel household, the annual bill is expected to rise from £1,641 to £1,862. That is an increase of £221 per year, or around £18 per month.

The team will enhance the support we provide, ensuring that tenants not only have a home, but feel connected and supported within their community.

What has been your favourite event so far? Wholesale gas prices have gone up by about 25% due to global supply issues, which is pushing bills higher.

What can you do? Consumers should check for fixed energy deals, as some may be cheaper than the upcoming price cap and offer protection from future rises. Experts also warn that many households are already in energy debt, with calls for extra support measures, though these may not come soon.

Please contact lemon aid energy advice for support and assistance with the new fuel price cap change:

UPGRADING YOUR HOME

We’ve recently completed phase 1 of our planned maintenance programme in Vineburgh where we completed the installation of new doors and windows. Phase 2 will include the renewal of windows, doors and cladding with phases 3 & 4 also benefiting from door and cladding renewals.

KITCHENS & BATHROOMS

As part of our planned maintenance programme, we have also installed new kitchens and bathrooms in various properties – here is some of our finished projects.

SUMMER IN OUR COMMUNITIES

Summer brings our communities to life. Gardens bloom, children play outdoors, neighbours catch up over fences, and communities feel brighter after a long winter.

While warmer weather can sometimes bring challenges such as noise, parking issues or overgrown gardens, it’s important that concerns are reported so they can be addressed appropriately. At the same time, we’re proud of the many positive things that make our neighbourhoods great places to live. As we enjoy the Summer, please remember to:

Keep BBQs away from fences and buildings

Dispose of rubbish and food waste responsibly

Be mindful of noise and parties later in the night

Supervise children around roads and communal areas

Take extra care during dry weather to prevent accidental fires

Stick to designated swimming spots and follow safety signs

GARDEN MAINTENANCE

It’s Garden Maintenance season! Our team will be cutting grass, trimming hedges and spraying weeds in gardens and common areas from May-October (weather permitting). If your garden is part of the maintenance programme please make sure your garden is cleared of rubbish and dog fouling.
