John Kelly, Chair of Cunninghame Housing Association gave a cheque for £1,000 to Kieran Walker. Keiran is a young gymnast from Dalry, as part of a 3-year sponsor deal.
He is 15 years old and has been a gymnast for over 10 years. He trains 3 times a week after school and takes part in many competitions across the UK and other countries. Kieran is part of a Team which have become Scottish Champion, first competing in 2019.
Kieran’s Gymnast Team have been chosen to join Team GB for this year’s European Championships in Portugal from 1st. The funds will let Kieran to go to the European Championships and be part of Team GB. It will also cover all of the costs, from travel to hotels. This will help with future costs while allowing Kieran to achieve his goals.
The funds came from the “Making Our Communities a Better Place Fund”. It runs throughout the year (1st April 2021 to 31st March) until the funds are gone.
the support the Cunninghame Housing Association Board of Management is great and will help greatly. Kieran had a great time at the British Championships held in Stoke-on-Trent in October. He is focused on training and preparing for European Championships in Portugal.
