On Thursday 19th January 2023, Lesley Keenan, Chairperson and Janet Strang, Vice Chairperson of Cunninghame Housing Association presented a cheque for £1,000 to Coaches and team members of Kilwinning Football Academy 2008’s.

Kilwinning Football Academy is a registered charity which provides football development, nutrition, health and wellbeing to boys and girls of North Ayrshire. The Academy as a whole is run by a voluntary Committee / Coaches and currently have over 300 children registered with them who attend from different age ranges and abilities. They encourage children to eat healthy, exercise, develop positive relationships with others as well as promoting confidence, football and social skills.

The Association provided financial support to the 2008’s Team to assist with the costs involved in competing in new tournaments outwith North Ayrshire giving the young players the opportunity to travel further afield whilst building their self-esteem and confidence.

The funding for Kilwinning Football Academy 2008’s came from the Associations “Making Our Communities Better Places Fund” which operates throughout the year (1st April to 31st March) until the allocated funding is exhausted.

The Association are delighted to be supporting a local football club who have been running for many years providing children with opportunity whilst encouraging fitness, health and wellbeing”.
