Janet Strang, Chairperson of Cunninghame Housing Association recently presented a cheque for £1,000 to Craig Simpson, Coach of Kilwinning Football Academy 2008’s.

Kilwinning Football Academy 2008’s is part of a registered charity providing football development, nutrition and health & well-being to boys and girls of North Ayrshire. The Academy as a whole currently has over 300 young people registered with them who attend all from different age ranges and abilities. The young people are encouraged to eat healthy, exercise, develop positive relationships with others as well as promote their confidence, football skills, social skills and health all in a positive environment.

The funding provided by Cunninghame Housing Association is to support the team entering local football tournaments as well as enabling them to purchase any new equipment that may be required through continued use and wear and tear.

The funding for Kilwinning Football Academy 2008’s came from the Associations “Making Our Communities Better Places Fund” which operates throughout the year (1st April to 31st March) until the allocated funding is exhausted.

We are pleased to provide Kilwinning Football Academy 2008’s with financial support to allow young people to participate in football, encouraging fitness, social interaction and building their confidence
