
On Wednesday 11th August 2021 John Kelly, Chairperson of Cunninghame Housing Association presented a cheque for £1,000 to Jonathan Ralston, a young Archer from Dalry, to assist with his competition costs for another season.
The Association’s Board of Management initially awarded Jonathan £500 in July 2019 and then made the decision to sponsor Jonathan for a further 2 years. Jonathan, who first picked up a bow at the age of 6yrs continues to take part in competitions and training throughout the country, where possible. Jonathan has taken part in several competitions recently travelling to Burton-on Trent where he won the under-16 age group and Banchory which was a 2-day event. Jonathan also taken part in a Youth Festival at Lilleshall where he was part of the Men’s Recurve Cadet Team and won the bronze medal. Jonathan has recently purchased a new training bow with the sponsorship money from CHA as well as the funds assisting with travel and accommodation costs.
The funding for Jonathan came from the Associations Making Our Communities a Better Place Fund, which operates throughout the year (1st April 2021 to 31st March 2022) until the allocated funding is exhausted
